The Tailgate Trash Bag drapes over the tailgate of a Jeep Gladiator, Toyota Tacoma, Ram, Rivian or QuarterMaster and gives you 18 x 25 x 6 inches of sealed exterior storage, which is enough for a weekend of trash, or a load of tools, groceries, dog gear or wet camping supplies you do not want inside.
It is made from heavy-duty, weather-resistant vinyl, which is the right material for something that spends its life in sun, rain, snow and dust; fabric in that position goes chalky and stiff inside a season. Adjustable straps pull it tight over the tailgate so it does not flap or shift on washboard, and a top zipper keeps the contents dry and gives one-handed access. It works with the tailgate up or down, so it is still usable as storage when the gate is dropped for cooking or loading.

What to know before you buy
Anything strapped against paint can trap grit. Clean both the tailgate and the bag before you install it, and check the contact area after off-road driving to clear out any dirt or debris that has worked its way underneath. Do that and the finish underneath stays intact.
