To meet the real-world usability standards of Overland Kitted, we designed the bracket with several innovative features in mind, including newly added welded steel reinforcements for enhanced strength and durability.
Anti-Wobble Design:
On our first prototype, we realized the need for a design that provided lateral stability to the load that the bracket is carrying. Our innovative design compensates for the natural crown of the tire, and pushes the sides of the bracket directly into the tire, away from the crown to ensure that your gear is as solid as possible.
Tire Traction Dies:
Four dimple-died holes at each corner of the STAB not only increase the strength of the bracket and reduce the weight, but they also ensure that the bracket does not rotate or slip—even under the most-rugged conditions. Because these traction dies are located directly underneath the two-inch Mac's Custom Tie Downs® strap, they are under constant tension and mechanically key to the tire tread.
Heavy-Duty Tire Strap:
We partnered with Mac's Custom Tie Downs® to provide the best-in-business, American-made two-inch strap with a heavy-duty ratchet to ensure that the Overland Kitted STAB system doesn't get left behind on the trail. The oversized ratchet is easy to engage and disengage, and provides superior ratcheting force to ensure a solid, secure fitment of the bracket.
Welded Steel Reinforcements:
The latest version of our Spare Tire Accessory Bracket has been updated to include welded steel reinforcements, making it even more durable and capable of withstanding the most challenging terrains. These enhancements ensure that your bracket remains strong and reliable, even with heavy loads.
Designed for MAXTRAX®:
When combined with our Universal MAXTRAX® Mounting Plates (available for MKII, XTREME, and Mini recovery boards), you'll be able to quickly and securely mount your MAXTRAX®, and our Mounting Plates even use genuine MAXTRAX® Mounting Pin hardware.
As a strategic partner and long-time exclusive importer of MAXTRAX®, we eat, sleep, and breathe MAXTRAX® products. The Spare Tire Accessory Bracket was designed based on customer demand for a solution for mounting MAXTRAX® Recovery Boards on vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, which have a rear-tire mounted reversing camera. It's also handy for customers who want to have the best possible rear visibility, as less of your rearview mirror is obstructed.
RotoPax® Ready:
The Overland Kitted Spare Tire Accessory Bracket is ready to accept genuine RotoPax® mounting solutions and was designed for their fuel containers ranging from 1-gallon to 3-gallons. Please keep in mind that an additional bracket will be required if you are intending to use our Universal MAXTRAX Mounting Bracket.
