The Overland Kitted Spare Tire Mount for MAXTRAX® MKII + Xtreme offers the cleanest, most stable solution for carrying your MAXTRAX® recovery boards on your spare tire. Engineered specifically to avoid compromising rear visibility, camera function, or accessibility, it’s the ideal mounting solution for vehicles like the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco, which feature center-mounted backup cameras. Pair it with an additional Spare Tire Accessory Bracket to mount RotoPax® and other accessories. 

Innovative Anti-Wobble Design

Unlike spare tire mounts that rely solely on straps to hold boards, our system integrates a proprietary traction strategy with four precision-placed, dimple-died traction points. These traction dies bite directly into the tire tread, compensating for the tire’s natural crown and completely eliminating wobble or rotation. Coupled with our USA-made, heavy-duty 2-inch Mac’s Custom Tie Downs® ratchet strap, your MAXTRAX® MKII + XTREME recovery boards remain securely mounted—no shifting, slipping, or rattling—even in extreme terrain.

We designed this system to solve one of the biggest frustrations with MAXTRAX® mounts-slow, awkward access due to straps. Our system uses the all new MAXTRAX® Universal Mounting Pins for secure and rapid deployment. Ideal for repeated recovery scenarios such as snow wheeling or deep sand, this mounting system ensures effortless access every time. The all new Universal Mounting Pins can accommodate up to 4 boards of MKII, or Xtreme (or a set of both!)

FAQ
Will this block my backup camera?
No, the mount keeps the recovery boards on the tread side of the tire, keeping the camera clear.

How many MAXTRAX can it hold?
Two or four individual boards

Does this work with oversized tires?
It will work with up to a 35" tire

Is drilling required?
No drilling is required

Can I mount Rotopax at the same time?
Yes, you will just need an additional Spare Tire Bracket

Do I have to mount the Rotopax/MAXTRAX on the side of the tire?
No- you can mount them in any orientation: On the top, side or at an angle.
