The SXS Groove Fairlead: a hawse-style fairlead built for SXS winch lines
The improved hawse fairlead, sized for SXS and UTV rigs. This patent-pending Groove Fairlead design makes a true hookless winch system possible. You no longer need a hook on the end of your winch line, which makes the whole system stronger and safer. Simply run a hard or soft shackle through the eye at the end of your winch line as you deploy. When you are ready to store the line, slip the eye over one end of the fairlead and tighten up the winch. That is it.

What makes this fairlead different?
This is the only fairlead that completely protects your winch line from getting smashed against trees or rocks without the aid of a hook or other attachment. Go ahead and beat it up. Synthetic winch lines are expensive and deserve to be treated with care, and the Groove Lead protects yours better than anything else on the market.

The Groove Fairlead is machined right here in the USA from 6061 aircraft aluminum and Type III anodized to protect that smooth finish for years. This is one piece of equipment that will outlast you and your rig.
What about the winch line I already have?
That is the easy part. Re-tying a Brummell splice at the end of your winch line takes only a few minutes and can be done without removing the entire line from your winch. If you need a new synthetic winch line, we can supply you with one as well.
Can I use my winch line without a thimble?
Thimbles, hard shackles, hooks and soft shackles all share a diameter larger than the winch line itself, which gives the winch line eye a larger radius to work over. When choosing the best connection for your winch line, prioritize soft shackles first, hard shackles second, then thimbles. Thimbles can collapse under extreme loads, which flattens, cuts and pinches the line and can lead to failure. For the best mix of versatility and strength during winching, the soft shackle is the most effective connection point pound for pound.
