The small Shooter Sand Bag is 5 in wide x 9 in long x 9 in tall — two inches narrower than the large, which is the difference between a bag that sits on a window sill or a narrow rail and one that does not. It gives you a stable, conforming rest on a window, a hood, a bench or the ground, and it protects the surface underneath it from the rifle.
It ships empty, so you choose the fill: sand for maximum mass and the steadiest rest, beans or buckwheat hulls for a lighter bag that conforms faster and is easier to carry. Hand-sewn from heavy-duty fabric, and it folds flat when it is empty — which is why a shooter usually ends up carrying two of these rather than one.
