Heavy Duty Static Bridle
Choose options
The Heavy Duty Static Bridle pairs our industrial-grade recovery sling with two matching J-hook soft shackles to build a balanced, high-strength bridle for serious recoveries and towing. Connecting to two recovery points spreads the load evenly and reduces stress on any single mount.
The result keeps the recovered vehicle tracking straight, gives a centered and stable pull, and protects frames and mounts when angles get awkward. It also works as an extension when you need extra reach.
Why run a bridle:
- Distributes the load across two recovery points to reduce stress on either one
- Keeps the vehicle straighter for a more controlled, stable pull
- Reduces the risk of failing a single recovery point
- Handles awkward angles with a central, balanced pull
- Doubles as a versatile extension strap when extra length is needed
Size and minimum breaking strength
System strength changes with the sling angle between the two legs — a narrower angle is stronger. Choose the configuration that matches the rig doing the recovery.
| Configuration | 90° | 60° | 45° | 30° |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 7/16" sling + two 7/16" J-hook shackles | 30,400 lbs | 37,200 lbs | 39,800 lbs | 41,600 lbs |
| 1/2" sling + two 7/16" J-hook shackles | 43,500 lbs | 53,200 lbs | 56,800 lbs | 59,400 lbs |
| 5/8" sling + two 1/2" J-hook shackles | 67,900 lbs | 83,200 lbs | 88,700 lbs | 92,700 lbs |
| 3/4" sling + two 5/8" J-hook shackles | 82,600 lbs | 101,300 lbs | 108,100 lbs | 113,000 lbs |
| 1" sling + two 5/8" J-hook shackles | 139,200 lbs | 171,400 lbs | 182,800 lbs | 191,000 lbs |
Size to the recovery vehicle
Match the bridle to the rig doing the pulling, not the one that is stuck, and keep the angle between the legs as narrow as the recovery points allow for maximum strength.
Safety note: rig to rated recovery points only, lay a dampener over the line, and keep everyone clear of the load path during a pull.
