The Diode Dynamics SL2 is a compact, fanless LED bulb that replaces an H13 halogen as a direct plug-in. Diode designed it to put its light where the original filament sat, so the housing keeps its focus and hotspot instead of scattering glare, which matters more than a big lumen number.
At 14 watts, the SL2 cools itself through a copper-core circuit board and a full-metal housing with an integrated heatsink, with no fan to fail. Diode backs it with a limited lifetime warranty.
Legal note: Diode states that in the USA these LED bulbs may only be used in fog lights; they do not meet DOT/FMVSS 108 for headlights. More bulbs in replacement bulbs.
