Yankum Ropes
7/16" Synthetic Winch Line
Choose options
Synthetic winch line does the same job as steel cable without the failure mode that matters most: if HMPE fiber lets go under load, it drops instead of whipping back like a steel cable. It is a fraction of the weight, floats, handles easily, and is far kinder to your winch drum and your hands.
This is the 7/16" line, the heaviest diameter Yankum offers, sized for full-size trucks and heavier rigs. A chafe sleeve is included to protect the line where it runs over abrasive obstacles.

Size to the recovery vehicle
Match the line to your winch's rated pull and to the rig doing the recovery, not the one you are pulling out. The 7/16" pairs with the heavier winches found on full-size trucks; if you run a lighter setup, a smaller diameter may be the better fit.
Safety
Always run the line through a hawse or roller fairlead, lay a dampener over it during a pull, and keep clear of the line of pull. Inspect for cut or fuzzed fiber before each use and retire the line if the fiber is compromised or shows glazing from heat.
