Yankum Ropes
1/4" Winch Line
Choose options
Steel winch cable is heavy, it develops sharp broken strands that shred hands, and when it fails under load it snaps back like a whip. Synthetic winch line does the same job at a fraction of the weight, floats, and drops instead of recoiling if it ever lets go.
This is the 1/4" line, sized for ATV, UTV and small utility winches. Made from HMPE fiber, rated to 8,000 lb minimum tensile strength, with a chafe sleeve included to protect the line over abrasive obstacles.

Sizing your winch line
Match the line to your winch's rated pull and the vehicle doing the recovery, not the stuck one. The 1/4" line suits ATV/UTV and small utility winches; heavier winches on trucks and full-size rigs need a larger diameter. If your winch out-pulls the line's 8,000 lb rating, step up a size.
Use it safely
Keep several wraps on the drum at full extension, run the chafe sleeve over any edge the line crosses, and lay a dampener over the line during a pull. Inspect before every use — retire the line for cuts, heavy fuzz, glazing or a section gone thin. Keep bystanders clear of the winch line under load.
Made in the USA. Not sure which length or diameter fits your winch? Ask us.
