Mountain Hatch's Tailgate Table for the 2024+ Toyota Tacoma is a fourth-gen-specific panel: a 1/2-inch HDPE slab cut to the new tailgate's outline, with two drink holders and a 1/4-inch-deep utility tray molded into the surface. It replaces the factory plastic panel outright rather than sitting on top of it, so the finished gate is one flat, food-safe surface.
The recessed layout is what most 4th Gen owners want: a place to park a coffee and a phone while the stove is going, and a tray that catches the small stuff. Removal of the stock panel and installation at the factory mounting locations is the whole job, with no drilling or trimming. Each panel is made to order in Riverside, California: the outline is machine-cut, then the edges and pockets are finished by hand, so allow production time.
Set expectations before you buy. The surface is textured HDPE, which means it will take knife marks like a kitchen board and is slick when wet. The panel is not structural, so it protects the tailgate skin without reinforcing it. And the added weight lets the factory damper open the gate a touch faster than stock, though, as Mountain Hatch notes, it will not slam open.
