A Sprinter with no bulkhead is one long open tunnel, and a dog in the back will find the gap between the front seats before you clear the driveway. This mesh barrier closes the cab off so the dog stays where you put it — visible in the mirror, breathing freely, and not climbing into the driver's lap on the interstate.
The barrier measures 30 in tall x 55 in wide and anchors at the top to the headrests and at the bottom to the van's D-rings, so it is tensioned at four points and cannot simply be pushed aside from the cargo side. Mesh is the right material here: you keep rearward visibility through the mirror and air keeps moving through the van, which a solid panel would kill. The bottom hem is a sewn sleeve — slide a rod through it and the lower edge goes rigid, which is the part that actually stops a determined dog from crawling underneath. A telescopic pole, a length of PVC, a fiberglass rod or a 48 in reflective rod all work. The rod is not included.

What to know before you buy
You supply the bottom rod. Pick something stiff enough to hold the lower edge taut against a dog leaning on it — a telescopic pole, PVC pipe cut to length, a fiberglass rod, or a 48 in reflective rod from a hardware store. Watch the install video before you order.
