MAXTRAX MKII FJ Blue Recovery Boards

A pair of MAXTRAX MKII under your drive tires turns a stuck truck into a moving one — no winch, no second vehicle. This is the original Australian-made design in reinforced engineering-grade nylon, sold as a pair with Telltale leashes and backed for life. FJ Blue is the heritage color, matched to the Voodoo Blue era of the Toyota FJ Cruiser.

FJ Blue is the color people choose on purpose. MAXTRAX matched it to Toyota's Voodoo Blue FJ Cruiser, so on a blue rig the boards read as part of the build, not something strapped on afterward. Against sand and dirt the blue separates cleanly — easier to pick out than Gunmetal Grey or Titanium Grey, nowhere near as loud as Signature Orange. That is the honest trade: it is a mid-visibility color, and you are choosing looking right over being found fastest. On a half-buried board at dusk you will notice.

Two boards or four? Two boards recover a single stuck axle, which covers the large majority of real situations. Four is worth it if you run heavy, tow, travel solo in remote country, or regularly get both axles down — and four lets you leapfrog, bridging a longer soft section instead of one bad spot. Know the cost. Four boards changes which mounting pin you need, and a second set you never deploy is weight and rack height you pay for on every trip.

• The honest default. MKII is the right board for nearly everyone. Step up to the XTREME only if you use boards hard and often — recovery work, driver training, racing.
• Visible, but not the most visible. Blue stands out well against sand, dirt and snow. If your one priority is spotting a buried board in poor light, orange still beats it.
• Six handles and a shovel at each end. Dig the tire out and set the board with the same piece of gear, with a grip within reach whichever way it lands.
• Lifetime warranty, and we rarely see one come back. The failure we do see is bridging in very cold weather with a hard impact. MAXTRAX has always taken care of it.
