MAXTRAX MKII are the recovery boards most people should buy, and Lime Green is the least subtle way to buy them. Wedge a pair under your drive tires and you get yourself out of sand, mud or snow — no winch, no second vehicle, nobody to wait on. The original design, made in Australia from reinforced engineering-grade nylon, sold as a pair, lifetime warranty.

Lime Green is the modern high-visibility choice. Orange has been the high-vis default for two decades, but green is the shade almost nothing in the landscape shares. Against dirt, rock and dry brush nothing competes with it, so a half-buried board, or one left in the trail behind you, catches your eye at a glance. It also suits newer builds where orange reads dated. Like Blaze Yellow, this is genuine function rather than styling — and, just as honestly, not a quiet thing to carry on a rack.

Plan on recovering in the dark. Almost nobody gets stuck when they meant to; it happens later in the day than planned, with the light going. Keep a headlamp with the boards, not in the truck — you will not want to walk back for it. Clip the Telltale leashes on before the board goes under the tire, and walk the line you intend to drive before you drive it. Never stand behind or beside a board while someone drives off it: a spinning tire can throw one backward.

  • The honest default. MKII is enough for most drivers. Step up to the XTREME only if you use boards hard and often — recovery work, driver training, racing.
  • Easy to find, impossible to hide. Lime Green reads in brush and at the edge of a headlight beam, and it is the first thing anyone will notice about the rig. If you want boards that disappear into the build, choose Black or Gunmetal Grey.
  • The color should stay the color. The nylon is UV stable and not meant to fade, which matters more on a bright board than a dark one.
  • Lifetime warranty, and we rarely see one come back. The failure we do see is bridging in very cold weather with a hard impact. MAXTRAX has always taken care of it.

Carrying them on the vehicle? One Universal Mounting Pin now fits the whole MAXTRAX range, leaving two choices: thread length — 17 mm for bracket mounting, including every bracket we sell, or 40 mm through a camper panel — and capacity, a two-board pin for this pair or a four-board pin if you run two sets.

More recovery gear and traction board mounts.

Not sure this is the color, or how you would mount it? Neither answers well from photos. We were MAXTRAX's original U.S. distributor and have stocked the brand since it first came to the United States, and the range sits in our Prescott, Arizona warehouse rather than a drop-shipper's — so we can tell you how Lime Green looks beside Blaze Yellow in daylight, and which pin your rack takes.
