Toyota Tacoma 4th Gen & Tundra 3rd Gen Brake Light Wiring Tap Cable
Choose options
The GG Offroad Brake Light Wiring Tap Cable gives a topper its own brake light feed by plugging in at the truck's third brake light connector in the headliner. It sits between the truck and the factory light, so the stock third brake light keeps working and nothing in the harness gets cut, spliced or crimped.
It outputs 12 volts on the red wire when you press the brake, plus a black ground. On the Tacoma version a yellow wire carries 12 volts when the white cargo lamps in the third brake light are on, which is handy for low-draw LED bed lights. Tapping at the headliner instead of a taillight keeps the circuit clear of the turn signals, which GG Offroad says avoids hyper-flashing. The wire is 24 AWG with a TPU jacket rated to 85°C.
The truck needs a factory third brake light with the white cargo lamps; Tacoma SR trucks without the LED cargo light package and some 2025 and 2026 Tundra trims don't have it. The headliner has to come down, and the cable runs out through the grommet under the rear seat. Pick your truck when ordering; the connectors and lengths differ. It pairs with the camera relocation kit. More for the Tacoma 4th Gen and Tundra 3rd Gen.
