The Mountain Hatch Bear Slapper Cutting Board is a 12 by 8 inch slab of the same food-grade HDPE Mountain Hatch uses for its tailgate tables, with a handle cut into one end. It is the small board that lives in the kitchen box: big enough for an onion, a lime and a block of cheese, small enough to wash in a camp sink.
HDPE is what commercial kitchens cut on. It does not absorb odors or moisture the way wood does, it will not split, and it scrubs clean with soap and water. The textured black surface shows knife marks over time like any plastic board, and it is not a heat-resistant trivet. The handle doubles as a hang point and, per Mountain Hatch, is for "easy smacking." A sticker is included.
It is a natural add-on for a Mountain Hatch tailgate table owner who wants a board to carry to the fire, and a sensible first cutting board for anyone building out a camp kitchen.
