The BB2413 fills a specific niche in the Saturn Series lineup — a DC-DC charger that steps up from a 12V or 24V alternator source to charge a 24V house battery bank at 13A. It's the right tool for builds that run a 24V auxiliary system in a vehicle with a 12V or 24V starter system, where a larger cross-voltage charger like the BB1224120 delivers more current than the application requires.

Auto-detecting input means the BB2413 works correctly whether connected to a 12V or 24V source, with no manual configuration required when moving between platforms. It's fully compatible with Euro 5/6+ smart alternators, correctly interpreting variable voltage signals that would cause traditional relays or older-generation chargers to fault or undercharge.

The BB2413 runs Sterling's standard Saturn 4-stage charge profile with six preset battery type options covering gel, AGM, calcium, open lead-acid, and two lithium profiles including LiFePO4. Low-temperature lithium cutoff protects cells from cold-weather charging damage. At 96% efficiency, heat rejection is minimal and the thermostatically controlled variable-speed fan keeps the unit quiet under light load.

Bidirectional Reverse Charging: When your 24V house bank climbs above threshold, the BB2413 automatically feeds current back to the starter battery to keep it maintained at float voltage — so solar looking after the house bank keeps your starter healthy too. Jump Start Assist mode forces a 20-minute reverse charge cycle if the starter battery drops too low to start the engine.

Output is adjustable to 100%, 85%, or 65% via the optional BBR remote, useful for managing alternator load alongside solar or in multi-unit parallel configurations.
