ARB Old Man Emu BP-51 Bypass Shock Absorber — Rear (Long), 1990–1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 80 Series & Lexus LX450
Choose options
The Old Man Emu BP-51 is ARB's flagship bypass shock, built for heavily loaded touring rigs that still need to stay planted on corrugations and rocky trails. This is the long rear unit for the 80 Series Land Cruiser platform.
Unlike a fixed-rate damper, the BP-51 uses position-sensitive bypass valving — damping ramps up through the stroke to control body movement — and both rebound and compression are adjustable on-car by hand, so you can tune the ride to your load and terrain.
- Position-sensitive bypass damping
- Externally adjustable rebound & compression
- Monotube, hard-anodised bore for heat control
- Rear "long" length for lifted 80 Series builds
Trade-off: this is a premium shock meant to run as part of a matched OME BP-51 system, not mixed with other springs or shocks.
