The ARB Old Man Emu BP-51 rear shock absorber is the premium end of OME's damping range — a position-sensitive bypass monotube with an external reservoir and independent compression and rebound adjustment. This is the right-hand (passenger-side) rear unit for the Ford Ranger.
BP-51 uses internal bypass zones so the shock stays plush over small chatter yet firms up progressively deep in the stroke — that is what keeps a loaded Ranger composed on corrugations and controlled through big hits. The external reservoir adds oil volume and cooling for sustained high-speed dirt, and the adjustable clickers let you dial compression and rebound to your load. Trade-off: BP-51 is a genuine premium-price shock and needs the vehicle-specific BP-51 fitting kit plus matching front coilovers to work as a system.
