ARB High-Performance On-Board Air Compressor Kit — 2019-2023 Ford Ranger SuperCrew
Choose options
On-board air, purpose-built for the 2019–2023 Ford Ranger SuperCrew. This ARB kit (CKMA12RK) mounts ARB’s High Output single-motor 12V compressor permanently in your Ranger, so airing back up at the trailhead, seating a tire bead, or engaging an ARB Air Locker is a flip of a switch — no portable pump to dig out, no clamps on the battery, no cargo space lost to a box.
Performance you can count on
The ARB CKMA12 moves 3.08 CFM (87 L/min) of free air and still pushes 2.34 CFM (66 L/min) at 29 psi, up to a 100 psi maximum. In real-world terms that’s enough to inflate up to a 35-inch tire and to actuate ARB Air Lockers instantly. The motor is internally thermal-protected, the cylinder bore is hard-anodized, and the piston runs a Teflon-impregnated carbon-fiber seal — ARB’s proven recipe for reliable air, trip after trip. Sealed to IP55 against moisture and dust, it’s happy living in a working engine bay.
Straight talk on duty cycle: the single CKMA12 is rated 50% (30 min on / 30 off) at full load — perfect for tire inflation and locker duty. If you intend to run air tools continuously or air up a full set of 37s back-to-back, step up to the twin-motor CKMTA12 (150 psi, 100% duty cycle) — see the comparison below.

What’s in the kit
- ARB CKMA12 High Output single-motor 12V compressor
- Vehicle-specific Ranger SuperCrew mounting bracket — bolts to factory points for a clean, permanent install
- Wiring loom with heavy-duty maxi-fuse and dash/compressor switch

Air hose and tire-inflation accessories for airing up are sold separately — see recommended add-ons below.
Installation on your Ranger
This is a vehicle-specific, bolt-on kit designed to locate the compressor cleanly in the Ranger SuperCrew and route the wiring and air line without cutting or improvising. The switch sits within easy reach so you can air up or engage a locker from the driver’s seat. Because it’s permanently mounted and sealed to IP55, it’s ready whenever you are — unlike a portable unit that has to be unpacked, clamped and stowed every time.
What you can do with it
- Air up fast after a trail — all four tires from a full airdown, up to 35".
- Run ARB Air Lockers — the CKMA12 supplies more than enough air to actuate front and/or rear lockers instantly.
- Seat a tire bead in the field.
- Top off camp gear, air mattresses, pack rafts, and blow dust off recovery gear.
- Add an air tank (optional) for short bursts with air chucks and blow guns.
Single vs. twin — which ARB compressor do you need?
| CKMA12 Single (this kit) | CKMTA12 Twin | |
|---|---|---|
| Air @ 0 psi | 3.08 CFM (87 L/min) | 6.16 CFM (174 L/min) |
| Air @ 29 psi | 2.34 CFM (66 L/min) | 4.68 CFM (132 L/min) |
| Max pressure | 100 psi | 150 psi |
| Duty cycle | 50% (30/30) | 100% (continuous) |
| Max current | 32 A | 68.6 A |
| Weight | 7.7 lb | 17.4 lb |
| Best for | Tires up to 35" + Air Lockers | Big tires (37"+), continuous use, air tools (with tank) |
For most Ranger builds airing up to 35" and running lockers, the single is the right call — lighter, less current, and plenty of air. Choose the twin if fast back-to-back inflation of oversized tires or running air tools is a priority.
Recommended add-ons
Pair it with an ARB tire-inflation kit or air-chuck set for airing up, an ARB air manifold if you’re feeding both inflation and Air Lockers, and an optional 4L air tank if you want to run air tools. ARB Air Lockers plug straight into this compressor.
Frequently asked
Will it run air tools? For short bursts with a tank, yes — but the single isn’t built for continuous air-tool work. For that, choose the twin CKMTA12.
Is it waterproof? It’s sealed to IP55 — moisture- and dust-resistant for engine-bay and underbody mounting, not for submersion.
Does it work with ARB Air Lockers? Yes — it’s the intended air source for ARB’s locking differentials.
What’s the biggest tire it will air up? ARB rates this kit for tires up to 35".
Duty cycle in plain English? Run it up to ~30 minutes, then let it rest ~30 minutes at full load. Airing up a set of tires is well within that.
