An on-board compressor is the upgrade you forget about until the moment you need it — airing back up at the trailhead, seating a bead, or engaging a locker. This ARB kit (CKMA12BK1) is built specifically for the 2021–2025 Ford Bronco, with an engine-bay mount validated by Ford engineers that bolts to factory points, so ARB’s High Output single-motor CKMA12 compressor lives permanently under the hood — no cargo-space box, no loose leads, no battery clamps.

Performance you can count on

The ARB CKMA12 moves 3.08 CFM (87 L/min) of free air and still pushes 2.34 CFM (66 L/min) at 29 psi, up to a 100 psi maximum — enough to inflate up to a 35-inch tire and to actuate ARB Air Lockers instantly. The motor is internally thermal-protected, the cylinder bore is hard-anodized, and the piston runs a Teflon-impregnated carbon-fiber seal. Sealed to IP55 against moisture and dust, it’s built to live in a working engine bay.

Straight talk on duty cycle: the single CKMA12 is rated 50% (30 min on / 30 off) at full load — ideal for tire inflation and locker duty. If you plan to run air tools continuously or air up a full set of 37s back-to-back, step up to the twin-motor CKMTA12 (150 psi, 100% duty cycle) — comparison below.

What’s in the kit

  • ARB CKMA12 High Output single-motor 12V compressor
  • Ford-validated engine-bay mounting bracket (PN 3580030) — 100% bolt-on to factory points, supports 2.3L and 2.7L
  • Hose coupling (0740112) and dust cap (0740113)
  • 2× 1/4in NPT tee adapters (0740106)
  • Switch located at the compressor, plus mounting hardware and fitting instructions

Air hose and tire-inflation accessories are sold separately — see recommended add-ons below. Confirm your engine (2.3L or 2.7L) before ordering.

Installation on your Bronco

The mount is a 100% bolt-on, Ford-validated engine-bay bracket — it fixes to factory mounting points with no cutting or drilling, and locates the compressor and its switch cleanly under the hood. A permanent, sealed (IP55) install means the compressor is ready the instant you need it, unlike a portable unit that has to be unpacked, clamped and stowed every time.

What you can do with it

  • Air up fast after a trail — all four tires from a full airdown, up to 35".
  • Run ARB Air Lockers — supplies more than enough air to actuate front and/or rear lockers instantly.
  • Seat a tire bead in the field.
  • Top off camp gear, air mattresses, pack rafts, and blow dust off recovery gear.
  • Add an air tank (optional) for short bursts with air chucks and blow guns.

Single vs. twin — which ARB compressor do you need?

CKMA12 Single (this kit) CKMTA12 Twin
Air @ 0 psi 3.08 CFM (87 L/min) 6.16 CFM (174 L/min)
Air @ 29 psi 2.34 CFM (66 L/min) 4.68 CFM (132 L/min)
Max pressure 100 psi 150 psi
Duty cycle 50% (30/30) 100% (continuous)
Max current 32 A 68.6 A
Weight 7.7 lb 17.4 lb
Best for Tires up to 35" + Air Lockers Big tires (37"+), continuous use, air tools (with tank)

For most Bronco builds airing up to 35" and running lockers, the single is the right call — lighter, less current draw, and plenty of air. Choose the twin if fast back-to-back inflation of oversized tires or running air tools matters more.

Recommended add-ons

Pair it with an ARB tire-inflation kit or air-chuck set for airing up, an ARB air manifold if you’re feeding both inflation and Air Lockers, and an optional 4L air tank for air tools. ARB Air Lockers plug straight into this compressor.

Frequently asked

Will it run air tools? For short bursts with a tank, yes — but the single isn’t built for continuous air-tool work. For that, choose the twin CKMTA12.
Is it waterproof? It’s sealed to IP55 — moisture- and dust-resistant for engine-bay mounting, not for submersion.
Does it fit my Bronco? It fits 2021–2025 Bronco with the 2.3L or 2.7L engine; the bracket is Ford-validated and bolts to factory points.
Does it work with ARB Air Lockers? Yes — it’s the intended air source for ARB’s locking differentials.
Duty cycle in plain English? Run it up to ~30 minutes, then rest ~30 at full load. Airing up a set of tires is well within that.

This fits

Ford Bronco (Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Heritage / Heritage Limited, First Edition), 2021–2025, with the 2.3L or 2.7L engine.
