The ARB Air Locker RD226 brings selectable locking to the aluminium-centre Dana 44A (30-spline) differential. Flick the switch and the axle locks 100% for climbs, mud and rock; release it and the differential returns to fully open behaviour for easy, predictable road driving.
This Dana 44A housing is found in Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander models, where an open or limited-slip diff limits traction off-road. ARB's forged four-pinion centre replaces those internals with a stronger, on-demand locking unit, and air-operated engagement makes locking instant and repeatable in any gear.
