A steel bow shackle is heavy, drops its pin in the mud, and turns into a projectile if it lets go under load. This is the 7/16" Double Loop soft shackle: one continuous piece of HMPE fiber, about twice the length of a standard soft shackle. Closed, the loop measures about 20"; opened, it runs about 40".
The extra length is the point. Loop it around a connection point and double it back to nearly double the working load, or use the reach to rig an awkward, hard-to-get recovery point under a stuck rig. A 36" chafe sleeve doubles up the abrasion protection where it wraps.

Size to the recovery vehicle
Match the shackle to the rig doing the pulling, not the one that is stuck. The 7/16" suits full-size trucks and large SUVs in the 5,000–10,249 lb range. Running lighter or heavier? Contact us and we will point you to the right size.
Why double loop
The reach gives you room to work under a buried rig, and doubling the shackle back on itself takes the working load up to roughly twice that of a standard soft shackle when winching or joining two ropes together.
FAQ
Standard vs. HD vs. Double Loop?
All share the same HMPE core and strength. The standard has a tubular polyester chafe sleeve; the HD has a urethane-dipped sleeve for rough recovery points; the Double Loop is about twice as long so it can reach further or double back for more working load.
When do I retire it?
Inspect before every use. Cut or fuzzed fiber, a sleeve worn through, or glazing that suggests heat means it is done.
Safety: keep bystanders clear of the load path and lay a dampener over the line during a pull.
