When you are winching off a tree, you need an anchor that holds without stripping the bark or chewing your gear. A chain bites in; a narrow rope slips and frays. A tree saver spreads the load across a wide band of webbing so the tree survives and your winch line has something solid to pull against.
The Yankum 3" x 8' tree strap is 2-ply polyester wrapped in a removable Cordura chafe sleeve. At 8 feet it wraps most trunks with just enough length to link the loops, and packs down small enough to live in the recovery bag.
This is a static strap, not a kinetic rope. Low stretch, for controlled winch anchoring — not for snatch recoveries.

How to rig it
Wrap the strap low around the base of a solid tree, keeping it as low as possible for stability. Bring both loops together and join them with a soft shackle or rated D-ring before attaching your winch line. The wide band and sleeve distribute the load and protect the bark.
Use it safely
Anchor to a healthy, solid tree only. Keep the pull as straight as possible, lay a dampener over the line, and keep everyone clear of the winch line under load. Inspect before use; retire the strap if the webbing is cut or heavily abraded.
