Mountain Hatch's Tailgate Table for the 2022+ Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra 2500 and 3500 HD gives the heavy-duty GM tailgate a flat, 1/2-inch food-grade HDPE surface with drink holders and a recessed utility tray. It replaces the factory panel at the stock mounting locations.

Remove the factory screws and panel, install the Mountain Hatch and reinstall; no drilling. On an HD truck the panel does double duty as a tailgate protector when the trailer gear and tools go in. As with the 1500, confirm you have the standard tailgate rather than the MultiPro or MultiFlex gate. Each panel is made to order in Riverside, California: the outline is machine-cut, then the edges and pockets are finished by hand, so allow production time.

Set expectations before you buy. The surface is textured HDPE, which means it will take knife marks like a kitchen board and is slick when wet. The panel is not structural, so it protects the tailgate skin without reinforcing it. And the added weight lets the factory damper open the gate a touch faster than stock, though, as Mountain Hatch notes, it will not slam open.
