The Mountain Hatch Tailgate Table for the 2015-2022 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon turns the second-gen midsize GM tailgate into a flat, 1/2-inch food-grade HDPE counter with two drink holders and a 1/4-inch-deep utility tray. It replaces the factory tailgate panel at the stock screw locations.

Installation is the usual Mountain Hatch swap with no drilling. The UV-stabilized surface is food-safe and easy to wipe down, and it protects the gate when a bike or cooler slides in. These are built to order in Riverside, California, not pulled off a shelf. The cut is done by machine and the finishing by hand, so expect a production lead before it is ready.

A few honest notes before you order. HDPE is the same material as a kitchen cutting board, so it will pick up knife marks if you press hard and it gets slick when wet, which matters if the truck is parked on a slope. It is a work surface rather than armor, so it will not stiffen the tailgate. And because the panel adds weight to the gate, Mountain Hatch notes that the factory tailgate damper will let it open a little faster than stock, though it will not slam.
