The Sequoia Large Headrest Storage Bag hangs from the headrest and does exactly that, without covering the whole seat.

The layout is built around a big oversized front slip pocket that takes a rolled jacket, a hat or a map with one hand. Dual side water bottle pockets sit where a passenger can reach them from either side. Two zippered pockets hold the things that must not fall out, and two more slip pockets take the things you grab constantly. Quick-release buckles at the headrest mean it goes on and off in seconds. The bag is MOLLE compatible, so it will also mount onto any MOLLE panel — a cargo area panel, a bulkhead, a seat-back MOLLE organizer — and a velcro loop panel on the face takes patches or ID tags.

What to know before you buy

This is the large Sequoia. If you only need a phone, a wallet and a snack held at the headrest, the Sequoia Mini does the same job in a smaller package and takes up less knee room.
