The rope is designed to stretch. The shackle should not. When you want a steel connection point that shrugs off abrasion and outlasts the fiber around it, this is it — a genuine Green Pin bow shackle, the same hardware trusted in oil-and-gas rigging.
This is the 1/2" Green Pin, rated to a 2-ton working load limit. It is the steel-shackle match for our 1/2" Racer and 5/8" Viper kinetic ropes.
| Shackle size | 1/2" |
|---|---|
| Working load limit | 2 ton |
| Type | Bow shackle, screw pin |
| Material | Zinc-plated alloy steel |
| Pairs with | 1/2" Racer, 5/8" Viper kinetic ropes |
Which Green Pin for your rope
Match the shackle to the rope so the shackle is never the weak point. Size to the recovery vehicle, not the stuck one — the same rule as the rope.
| Rope size | Green Pin size | Working load limit |
|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 1/2" | 2 ton |
| 5/8" | 1/2" | 2 ton |
| 3/4" | 3/4" | 4.75 ton |
| 7/8" | 3/4" | 4.75 ton |
| 1" | 7/8" | 6.5 ton |
| 1-1/4" | 1-1/4" | 12 ton |
| 1-1/2" | 1-1/4" | 12 ton |
| 2" | 1-1/2" | 17 ton |
| 2-1/2" | 1-1/2" | 17 ton |

Why Green Pin
- Superior alloys, proof-tested to published safety ratings
- Trusted in oil & gas rigging
- Zinc coated for rust prevention
- Used in the test environments designed to break lesser rigging
Use it safely
Attach to rated recovery points only. Hand-tighten the screw pin, then back it off a quarter turn so it does not seize under load. Inspect for wear, elongation or corrosion before every use, and keep bystanders clear of the line. Prefer soft shackles around people and paint — steel flies if something fails.
