Sterling Power BB4812 – 48V to 12V DC-DC Converter Charger
Choose options
The Sterling Power BB4812 is a 48V-to-12V DC-DC converter charger. It steps a 48V supply down to a controlled 12V output, letting you run and charge a 12V system from a 48V bank — useful as 48V house architectures become more common in larger camper, marine, and off-grid builds.
It's a dual-purpose device. Connect a 12V battery on the output and it delivers a proper controlled multi-stage charge (bulk, absorption, float) rather than a crude fixed conversion. Or skip the battery entirely and use it as a standalone 12V power supply — its high-capacitance output stage delivers a stable, low-ripple 12V (13.8V default, adjustable) DC supply directly to 12V loads such as lighting, winches, and pumps, with no 12V battery required on the output at all.

Key Features
- Runs and charges 12V systems from a 48V bank
- Can be used as a standalone 12V power supply — no battery required on the 12V side
- High-capacitance output stage gives a stable, low-ripple 12V supply, with or without a buffer battery connected
- Controlled multi-stage charge (bulk/absorption/float) rather than a fixed conversion when a battery is connected
- Suits lead-acid, AGM, gel, and lithium 12V batteries
- 40A / ~550W continuous output at 98% efficiency
- Self-recovering protection against under/over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature
