The spare tire is the most under-used real estate on an overland rig. The Spare Tire Trash Bag turns it into roughly 11 gallons of storage without giving up a single inch of cabin space — and unlike a hard box, it packs flat when you don't need it.
It is cut from heavy-duty, fade-resistant vinyl and straps directly to a rear-mounted spare with adjustable webbing. No brackets, no drilling, no vehicle-specific fitment. Version 2 adds a zippered top flap with a rain flap over the zipper, plus two box pockets on the face for the small stuff you don't want buried.
Trash is the obvious job, and it does it well — a bag that lives outside the vehicle means you are not driving 200 miles with a sack of wet garbage behind your seat. In practice most owners end up using it for anything they don't want inside the truck: firewood, recovery gear, a gray-water hose, wet swimsuits, muddy boots.

What to know before you buy
The 55 lb limit is a real number, not a marketing one. The load hangs off your tire carrier, and on most rigs the carrier hinge is the weak link long before the bag is. Load it accordingly.
Vinyl and webbing are what take UV abuse first. If the truck lives outside, Overland Gear Guy's vinyl strap covers (sold separately) are cheap insurance on the buckles and straps.
