The base of a roof top tent ladder is where the campsite gets into the tent. Every trip up the ladder picks up mud, sand and pine needles off the ground and carries them into your bed. This vinyl mat gives the ladder a clean, defined surface to stand on and gives you somewhere to put your feet before you climb.
It is made from heavy-duty fade-resistant vinyl, because it lives outside, gets stood on with wet boots and takes UV all day. Vinyl also means it cleans up with a damp cloth rather than needing to dry out. It keeps grit off the ladder feet, which is what wears them and what gets ground into the rungs.
