Byer of Maine Pangean Butterfly Chair
Choose options
The Pangean Butterfly Chair is Byer of Maine's take on the late-1930s butterfly sling chair, rebuilt in wood and canvas so it folds flat for the truck and still looks right in a cabin or by the fire.
Byer reworked the frame for comfort and durability and reinforced every stress point on the cover. The frame is Eucalyptus Grandis dipped in oil, the sling is heavy polyester canvas in forest green, natural or granite, and the chair arrives assembled, so you unfold it and sit. It weighs 11 lb and holds up to 250 lb. It pairs with the small Pangean folding table as a side table.
The butterfly shape is deep and low. The seat sits about 16 inches off the ground, so it is a lounging chair rather than one for sitting up at a table. More camp chairs.
