Registration, permits, a service record, a notepad, a tablet: paper-size things that get creased the moment they go anywhere else. This is the flat pocket in the Modular Velcro system — 8.5 in wide x 11 in tall, which is letter size on purpose — so documents go in flat and come out flat.
The Modular Velcro pockets are a system. Each one has hook velcro on the back and presses onto a loop surface: the Modular Velcro Seat Organizer, a velcro panel of your own, or the carpeted walls and ceilings of a trailer or camper. Velcro hook strips are included so the pocket also mounts to a seat back, a center console side, a van wall or a backpack. The advantage over MOLLE is speed of change: nothing is woven, so you can pull this pocket off, put the big cargo pocket where it was, and put this one somewhere else — in about five seconds. Being flat, it takes almost no depth from the cabin, so it does not push into a passenger's knees.

What to know before you buy
Flat means flat. This is for paper and slim electronics, not for anything with volume — that is what the box and cargo pockets are for. It needs a loop-velcro surface to grip.
