The open front and rear make it easy to carry long items such as a kayak, surfboard or lumber, while the rails give edge accessories like a jerry can holder somewhere solid to bolt to.
You can fit it in minutes with no drilling, and it carries the same weather-resistant powder-coated finish as the rack. The modular build means any rail section can come off when you need extra clearance, like flipping a rooftop tent open to the side.
