ARB's Deluxe Rock Sliders (rocker guards) armor those sills with tubular steel that bolts to the chassis at multiple points, so the vehicle's weight rides on the slider instead of your body panels when you drop onto a ledge.
They shrug off rocks, logs and ruts and give a solid step for reaching the top. The trade-off is the usual rock-slider one: real steel weight and a lower profile than a trim side-step, in exchange for protection you can actually lean the truck on. A straightforward bolt-on, best done with a second set of hands.
