Because engagement is on-demand rather than automatic, the Air Locker stays fully open until you flick the switch, so there's no bind, no clunk and no compromise to handling. When you do lock it, engagement is positive and 100% — both wheels drive regardless of traction — and hardened internals in a nodular-iron case stand up to hard trail use.
Trade-off to plan for: the Air Locker runs on compressed air, so you'll need an ARB on-board air compressor and the matching air line/solenoid to operate it. If you're already running ARB air for tyres or a second locker, this drops straight into that system.
