Steel winch cable stores energy under load and, if it lets go, snaps back like a whip. Synthetic HMPE line carries the same working load at a fraction of the weight, floats, handles easily bare-handed, and drops instead of recoiling if it fails. It is the single biggest safety upgrade you can make to a winch.

This is the 3/8" line, rated at 17,500 lbs minimum tensile strength — a common size for full-size trucks, Jeeps and SUVs running mid-size winches. Ships in 50', 75', 100', 125' and 150' lengths.

Size the line to your winch's rated pull and drum capacity, not to the vehicle you might recover. If in doubt, match the diameter your winch shipped with, or ask us. The included chafe sleeve protects the line where it runs over bumpers, rocks and rough edges.

Use it safely

Keep a dampener on the line, run the winch in line with the pull, and keep hands clear of the fairlead. Inspect before every pull — retire the line if you find cuts, heavy fuzzing, or glazing from heat. Even though it will not recoil like steel, a synthetic line under load is still dangerous; keep bystanders clear.
