toyota-tundra-mountain-hatch-1999-2006
Mountain Hatch Tailgate Cutting Board & Table for 1999-2006 Toyota Tundra (1st Gen)

Mountain Hatch's Tailgate Table for the 1999-2006 Toyota Tundra is cut in two widths, because the first-gen Tundra used a narrower bed on the Regular and Access Cab than it did on the 2004-2006 Double Cab. Pick the size that matches your truck and you get a flat, 1/2-inch food-grade HDPE panel in place of the factory tailgate surface.

Both widths come in the flat original or the recessed-pocket version. Go recessed if you cook on the gate: that version molds in two drink holders and a shallow, 1/4-inch-deep tray for the small things that otherwise roll away. Go flat if you would rather have every square inch available as cutting and work surface. It is a practical upgrade on a truck whose factory tailgate has usually seen twenty years of use. Each panel is made to order in Riverside, California: the outline is machine-cut, then the edges and pockets are finished by hand, so allow production time.

Set expectations before you buy. The surface is textured HDPE, which means it will take knife marks like a kitchen board and is slick when wet. The panel is not structural, so it protects the tailgate skin without reinforcing it. And the added weight lets the factory damper open the gate a touch faster than stock, though, as Mountain Hatch notes, it will not slam open.

Specifications

Fits

1999-2006 Toyota Tundra (1st Gen): Single Cab / Extra (Access) Cab, or Double Cab

Versions

Original flat version or Recessed pocket version, in two tailgate widths

Material

Heavy-duty 1/2-inch FDA-approved HDPE with UV inhibitors

Surface

Food-safe, similar to a commercial cutting board

Color

Black

Installation

Mounts at the factory tailgate panel locations.

Made in

Made to order in Riverside, California, USA

Design

Original patented Mountain Hatch tailgate table

Fitment and ordering

2007-2021 and 2022+ Tundras use their own panels; see all Mountain Hatch fitments or Camp Tables.

Measure or confirm your cab configuration: the Double Cab tailgate is wider than the Regular/Access Cab tailgate.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0525/3188/8320/files/IMG-3328_cd259954-936a-4229-bf6c-f62ac71ef5c3.jpg?v=1793382226
